wireless

Ouachita Parish Public Library now offers wireless Internet access inside all branches, free of charge. Just bring your laptop to access the service.

If you live or work in Ouachita Parish you must have a library card and PIN (the last four digits of the phone number you have on file with us) to use the wireless access. Please have this handy. You must agree to abide by the rules for wireless. Please read the Electronic Access/Internet Policy.

If you do not live or work in Ouachita Parish you may still use our wireless connection by agreeing to our policy and answering a few questions about yourself and your home town.

Once you connect to the library wireless network you will be asked to log on as a patron or a guest. We recommend that you turn off your Popup blocker. We also ask that you turn off your sound or plug in headphones so you do not disturb others in the library. Failure to do so may result in your being asked to leave the library.

Six simple things to remember:

  1. You may not use the library as a business office.
  2. You may not unplug ANYTHING to access an electrical outlet.
  3. The library reserves the right to ask you to disconnect from the wireless.
  4. Know how to access wireless from your device; the staff may not be able to give technical assistance.
  5. The wireless service does not support all Internet features.
  6. Library Internet access is filtered by Library Board policy.
